President's State of the Nation Address

President Benigno Simeon “BS” Aquino delivered his 4th SONA on the fourth Monday of the seventh month,July 22.2013.It has been three years since majority of Filipino voters elected the son of so-called “heroes” into the highest office in the land. Little did those voters know that after he banished the use of “wang-wang” on the streets in his first month in office — a decision some thought was bold and a sign that he meant business — not much would change under his leadership.

It is common that every SONA, President always make promises. From what I've read from his speech, there are many accomplishments that he had done. I am very amazed and proud to see and know that the families who are in squatters, now have homes. Even the farmers. They have more lands to to work on. And there are also more schools, hospitals, public markets, etc. that provides higher and effective facilities and at a low cost.

In the closing part of the speech, what BS Aquino calls “our SONA”, the following words were said…
''The road ahead of us is long; and we never said it would be easy—or that we could tread this path free of challenge. But I do not doubt our capacity to overcome any obstacle. We did not achieve our current success by chance. Let us not allow this transformation to be temporary; let us seize this opportunity to make the change permanent.''

I hope that this words would happen in his administration with his willingness to serve and develop our country. I hope he can further keep the good work in improving the current status of our country. Though, even if there are many projects, we, students still need help in terms of protection and education. And with our help, we can also ''“seize this opportunity to make the change permanent''!
