CHRISTMAS

Christmas is the most important festival of the year. It is celebrated as the birthday of Jesus Christ. It is the time of joy and happinnes. It is the time when families and close friends come home from all over the world to be with the people they love. It is a very favored holiday.
It is the time of gift-giving. Most of the time, giving can be even more enjoyable. The whole idea of finding that perfect gift, making someone smile, and him or her realizing that you put that much thought into just one gift is just one way which Christmas brings happiness to everyone.

CHRISTMAS. It is my favorite time of the year. It's all about love. It's all about giving. It's all about helping. It's all about sharing.

That's the TRUE essence of Christmas.

Reuse the past.   Recycle the present.   Save the future!
           Make a change!

''When we talk about the environment, about creation, my thoughts turn to the first pages of the Bible, the Book of Genesis, which states that God placed man and woman on earth to cultivate and care for it. And the question comes to my mind: What does cultivating and caring for the earth mean? Are we truly cultivating and caring for creation? Or are we exploiting and neglecting it?''

- Pope Francis

THE EARTH IS CHANGING. Yes it is.

One can see from space how the human race has changed the Earth. Land has been cleared. Polar ice caps are shrinking. Desert areas are increasing. EVERYTHING. Everything is changing. Everything has changed. And all of this is the evidence of human EXPLOITATION.

The ongoing consequences of climate change are many. We’re only beginning to see its damage.
It is difficult to predict what the future will hold, but there is a growing concern that what we will see won’t be good.

Clearly, we must do what we can do to prevent things from getting worse.

We must become leaders of our own.

We must think. We must act. We must lead. We must be aware. WE MUST MAKE A CHANGE!

  Learn English, Acces the World~

So why do we need a global language?

First and foremost, we need a global language to understand and manipulate human interaction easily.

ENGLISH. A language that is recognized and understood by people everywhere and has been established in all parts of the world. IT IS OUR GLOBAL LANGUAGE. It is our 'LINGUA FRANCA' or bridge language.

    Why a global language?

English is obviously emerging and navigating to all parts of the world. It is becoming the most widely used language. In most countries around the globe the English language can be found in some form or another. whether native or foreign english.

Why do we need to learn English?

English is the standard form of communication. It's used worldwide by people who are from different countries but need to communicate with each other. English is also seen as the business language, as for reasons mentioned above.

ENGLISH. May not be a good choice, but it is the the most  practical and obvious choice. So whether we like it or not, ENGLISH is becoming the true world language.

Reflection (Second Grading)

I'll keep tryin'

In this grading period, we took up HTML or the Hypertext Mark-up Language.
Hypertext Mark-up Language is the mark-up language used for creating documents on the World Wide Web.

During this period I haven’t met any problem just like before. I have done all the things that our teacher has given to us. I have completed all the activities. I have also completed all the drafts and notes that we took up in class discussions.
Moving on to the third grading is not easy because I know that I will also encounter some problems harder than this one, but I know that I still could find solutions to this problem if ever there is. I'll keep trying' for better grades.

My Teacher, My Hero

 Knowledge furnishers~

                                                      (c) Jonathan DC

Every individual has at least one teacher in his life who leaves a great influence on his/her personality.Good teachers not only help students with their studies but also mold their overall personality.

Teachers are heroes. Yes they are. Lots of time, hours and even years are sacrificed just to teach us lessons that we can  use and apply in our day-to-day living and even in our futures.

For me, a good teacher is someone who teaches not only with their mind but also with their  heart. They are the one who truly cares about his/her pupils and their interests, wishes and feelings and is also someone that a student can confide in times of sadness or of joy. They serve as a life coach. They  are  educators, instructors, lecturers, trainers, preceptors, pedagouges, and most of all, heroes. They show qualities such as patience, kindness, flexibility, resourcefulness, tolerance and open-mindedness.

There could be no doctors, engineers, lawyers, seaman, or in other words, professionals without teacher. They are the future developer. They are the knowledge furnishers. They are the true heroes!

Modern Day Heroes

  PRODIGIES

'' A Hero became more than someone who was a good provider and helped people. A Hero became someone who put their life on the line to save the lives of innocent people''

That was true. A real hero always has the courage to do things that are right. Some people think that heroes are those who possesses supernatural or unexplainable powers like Superman. Superman is one of, if not the, most well known Heroes. He had super powers and amazing abilities that ordinary people can't do. But he was only made by creative imaginations. The truth is heroes are found everywhere. Yes. EVERYWHERE. Maybe they are your friends, loved ones, enemies or maybe this heroes are the people you are encountering in your everyday life.

Firefighters, Police Officers, soldiers, armies, marines, teachers, of any branch, are just a few. They are our modern day heroes. They are all truly heroes. They posses all the heroic qualities that we associate with being a hero.
Firefighters are rescuers extensively trained in firefighting, primarily to extinguish hazardous fires and to rescue people from dangerous situations, like collapsed or burning buildings. They sacrifice their lives. Soldiers including armies and marines also do. They fight for our country. They had to handle everything from the weight of their packs to the constant pressure of being on-duty night and day. They had to deal with arriving enemies, weapons being fired at them, and the sight of their friends, and sometimes family, being killed right in front of their eyes.

To be a hero, you do not need to have special powers, amazing abilities, and to slay monsters. All you need to do is to make a difference in someone’s life.

                        UNRAVEL THE CAUSES
                BUILTHE  SOLUTION.
       EMPOWESCIENCE CLUBBERS TO ACTION.

Environment. What can you say about it? Isn’t more beautiful the past than today?
I grew up in an environment where pollution, disease, and other problems are a big issue. Trees are being cut down. Cars and factories release greenhouse gasses into the air. An inconvenient truth opened my eyes to see how today's technology and garbage affect these  environmental disasters, and I want to do something about it.

The influence of individuals over environment should not be ignored.

Global warming, pollution, floods. etc. This are the effects of all we did to Mother Earth. Its about to destroy and about to give up. If we do not confess that our planet is our home, we will never be able to take adequately care of it. We have to contribute every day to the preservation of nature and environment. We must REDUCE. We must REUSE. We must RECYCLE.

Every single person should take care of the environment, moreover we have to bring up our future children to be conscious citizens of a clean and preserved planet.

President's State of the Nation Address

President Benigno Simeon “BS” Aquino delivered his 4th SONA on the fourth Monday of the seventh month,July 22.2013.It has been three years since majority of Filipino voters elected the son of so-called “heroes” into the highest office in the land. Little did those voters know that after he banished the use of “wang-wang” on the streets in his first month in office — a decision some thought was bold and a sign that he meant business — not much would change under his leadership.

It is common that every SONA, President always make promises. From what I've read from his speech, there are many accomplishments that he had done. I am very amazed and proud to see and know that the families who are in squatters, now have homes. Even the farmers. They have more lands to to work on. And there are also more schools, hospitals, public markets, etc. that provides higher and effective facilities and at a low cost.

In the closing part of the speech, what BS Aquino calls “our SONA”, the following words were said…
''The road ahead of us is long; and we never said it would be easy—or that we could tread this path free of challenge. But I do not doubt our capacity to overcome any obstacle. We did not achieve our current success by chance. Let us not allow this transformation to be temporary; let us seize this opportunity to make the change permanent.''

I hope that this words would happen in his administration with his willingness to serve and develop our country. I hope he can further keep the good work in improving the current status of our country. Though, even if there are many projects, we, students still need help in terms of protection and education. And with our help, we can also ''“seize this opportunity to make the change permanent''!

2013's Nutrition Month Celebration

                                                  2013's Nutrition Month Celebration

FOOD IS ENERGY. In everything we do, we must use energy. And
we get it by eating foods. For people who can eat 3 times a day, the only uncomfortable feeling they can get or feel is when they skip their breakfast or lunch or dinner. Try to compare it to those people who can’t afford to eat 3 times a day. How much more they can feel?
Malnutrition. None of us want to go to this level. None of us wants or want to be in that freaky health state. None of us wants to be the first to say goodbye. As students, we need to realize what is important. We need to stay strong to be able to keep up in school. If not, we will be weak. We all know that starvation is caused by poverty that occurs in our nation. We can't deny it. But we can't say that we are not necessarily eating, we are rich in natural resources like vegetables or plants where we can get or  gain some vitamins, minerals, irons and others. Starvation and MalnutritionThis two conditions are commonly coupled each other.Take for an instance that you're doing something yet you are starving. Do you think you can function good?
No. We will not be able to cope up. We can easily fall down.
So we are celebrating this month of nutrition to encourage those people who don't remember to eat those nutritious who were just in our own backyards and surroundings that will benefit us. So come on and let us fight for malnutrition!

                       First Grading Period?

                                     A little bit of  a failure. :'(

In this grading period, I learned about the different aspects and knowledge about the Internet. I learned also about the Internet timeline which improved my knowledge. The definitions of Internet, web browsers, web page, different level of domains , Country code top level domain , etc. are some of the topics that we've gained and learned in this grading period.
Depression and pressure to do well in school is one of the problem that I'd encountered . Not one high school student does not struggle with these pressures at some point in school. Some have more trouble than others, but typically, these are ongoing problems. I do not know how to significantly manage my time.     Suffering from depression means more than just dealing with a bad week or even a bad month. Yes, a MONTH. And I suffered to much depression. But after a month of realizing things, I did overcome that depression. All I did is to think positive things and to improve my appearance.     ''Life is a continuous exercise in creative problem solving.  A mistake doesn’t become a failure until you refuse to correct it. Thus, most long-term failures are the outcome of people who make excuses instead of decisions.''

                                                                                                                                                                                       Marcel Catayna
